For a period of 2020 we have had a percentage of our staff working from home. Remote working has had many benefits, however there has also been challenges for productivity, social connection and working together as a team. It has certainly forced us to quickly adapt to being creative with software, virtual meetings and change the way we work.
Our staff returned to working back in the office during June. We then decided to ask for feedback on what the pros and cons were whilst working from home. The most common con’s were, the lack of technology and the isolation from their colleagues. The two most popular pro’s were, they could work with less interruptions and spend more time with their families.
From this experience we are now trialing having our staff work from home one day per week. So far this seems to be working well. Our staff organise their week so when working from home they choose projects that they can complete with less interruptions.
One thing is for sure Covid19 has changed the way we think and our staff now have more flexibility. This now being the ‘New Normal’ at Bob Reus & Co.
